What Makes Us Sustainable?

Vertical Integration

Fashion is a complex industry with many moving parts. Yarn can be produced in one country, shipped across the world to be made into fabric, and then shipped again to a manufacturing facility where it is turned into a garment. That garment is then shipped once more to the retailer. This complex logistical web is time-consuming, expensive, and, most importantly, generates a significant amount of carbon emissions.

At Forgotten Tribes, we partner with a select few factories that practice vertical integration. This means they handle nearly every step of production—from planting crops to producing yarn, fabrics, and garments. By sourcing most resources locally, we save time, reduce costs, and significantly cut down on CO2 emissions.

Fabrics That Are Kind to the Planet

We work with fabrics that are not only natural, beautiful, and durable but also environmentally friendly. Hemp, organic cotton, and bamboo require significantly less water and fewer pesticides compared to conventional cotton. When blended together, these materials create incredible textiles that look and feel great while remaining long-lasting and suitable for everyday wear.

Sustainable Factories

We partner with manufacturers who utilize green energy and actively minimize pollution and waste throughout the production process.

The Best Packaging Is No Packaging

We believe that the best packaging is no packaging. We continually seek ways to reduce plastic consumption and waste by avoiding unnecessary garment bags, hangtags, and marketing materials. Our shipping envelopes are made from FSC-certified paper and are fully recyclable and biodegradable.
